RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Absorption chiller model



Hello EnergyPlus Support!

 

Just want to confirm my findings on doing annual simulation on absorption
chillers in E+ for my modeling project.  I tried several options to avoid
the zero volume flow rate in the chiller-condenser water loop (no clear
statement on this in the Input-Output reference and Engineering reference).
The one that worked is adding Purchased Cooling into the cooling supply side
branches.  Is this finding correct?  Does this mean that the Purchased
Cooling branch represent the purchased steam needed by the absorption
chiller?

Hi!

Need help identifying source of error in my model for absorption chiller.
Below is the error. I tried editing the condenser pump, chiller parameters,
equipment sizes, loop temperatures, etc. but can't seem to arrive at the
source of error. I uploaded the idf file named
AbsorptionChillerModified.idf
