[EnergyPlus_Support] open idf fiel with excel

Dear All,
  I met some problems in modifying idf file using Excel. When I open the new idf file (yet modified by Excel for example I change a conductivity of a material) using idf editor the new file it is empty!!
  I have to use Excel (and not a text editor) as I have to change some input data many times. So I have to create a macro.
  Can someone help me?
