RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Calling external files
Hello Alvaro,
I think you are looking at my thesis. The ability to read external *.dat files was something that I hard-coded into a special development version of EnergyPlus at the time for the unique purpose of the Trombe wall validation.. We have since added an object called SCHEDULE:FILE:COMMA that can read in schedule values from an external comma-delimited data file. If I were to redo my thesis today, I think I would be able to use SCHEDULE:FILE:COMMA to do the job instead of modifying the source code.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Calling external files
Hello EPlus forum,
I`m new writing here but I use to read you, so first of all say hello
everybody.
My question is the following. I've been reading a master thesis about
the validation of a trombe wall in EnergyPlus, I don't know if you
know it. The fact is that for making this validation the author call
to external file (*.dat) which contains requested information for
running the simulation. My doubt is about how can be done this
calling or if by the way is it neccesary to make any change in the
source code. Please if it's possible I'd like to know more about this
possibilitie of requesting info from external files.
Anticipated thanks
