Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Economizer-Outside air
My apologies for the slow response.
There is a misunderstanding of the meaning of these report variables:
Zone Mechanical Ventilation Total Volume of Outside Air [m3]
Zone Mechanical Ventilation Volume Flow Rate [m3/s]
Both of these variables report the quantity of outside air delivered to the
zone. Please see the definitions in the Input Output Reference (In v2.2, p..
1547, pdf p. 1588).
There are no equivalent report variables that report the total supply air flow
rate to a zone. So, Miguel's response (14 Apr) was correct that you must
report system node flow rates in order to dtermine the total system flow rate.

I have set the minimum of outside air per zone to acomplish with the indoor air quality standard regulations, so the outside air varies from that minimum quantity to the maximum needed to meet the cooling load when outside conditions are appropirate.

My question is, how can I assure that there is some return air flow? Because it seems the system airflow is always outside air with no return rate.
