Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Ventilated facade

Hi Catarina

You can use excel to do that. Use the data contained in the Solterm weather file, a put that data in a new sheet according to the order required. save as csv an than use the weather converter to put the file in the epw form.
See page 33 on the "Auxiliary programs" pdf.

Thank you for answering my question.. I have just found what I was doing wrong. Now I can see the small difference that Josep talk :).

But I have another question, because I need to simulate the building in r city that does't have a weather file. I only have the weather file from another program (SOlterm).

I have already tried to convert the file with the program EnergyPlus Weather Formatted Data.

Anyone can help me with this?

I've modeled very simple cases with ventilated façades and is possible to see small (significative) differences on energy demand comparing to non ventilated façades.

Perhaps you are not seeing changes in interior temperatures because they are being controlled by a system (e.g. purchased air).

Subject: [EnergyPlus_ Support] Ventilated facade

Hi,

I am having some problems in simulation ventilated facades. I am exporting a idf file from desingbuilder, them in energyplus I change the other condition model and exterior natural vented cavity.

The results are very strange, because i don't see any changes in the interior temperature when compared with the building without the ventilated facade.

To simulate that type of façade I only have to change the object, other condition model and exterior natural vented cavity, or I have to change other object too?

And another answer is I define the location of the building in IDF Editor, and then I input the weather file in EP-lunch, is there any problem in doing that?

 Thanks,

Catarina Carvalhal
