[EnergyPlus_Support] Rapid Model Development and Calibration Question

All,

I am a graduate student at the University of Colorado working on a project that will require a very small team to develop a large number of Energy Plus models for existing large commercials buildings in a short time frame.  I have been searching methodologies to streamline the model development and calibration process.  I have not found anything particularly useful and the best that I can come up with is for the team to have a well defined set of standard operating procedures detailing the steps to be followed at a each stage of the process and those parameters that are most relevant to the study.  

Do any of you all have suggestions toward optimizing a rapid model development process?
