Dinos

Where did you get the DesignBuilder software from? Trial, bought it?

energy simulation software, DesignBuilder. I used this program for my
thesis work and it was adequate in modeling the facility I was doing
an energy audit on. It is compatible with EnergyPlus meaning that you
can export files from DesignBuilder into EnergyPlus and make
modifications/additions to your existing model. I mainly used
DesignBuilder to draw the facility and specify building loads on it
because it is not easy in EnergyPlus (especially if you are new to
building energy simulation). There is also a CFD tool that
DesignBuilder is implementing to be released soon. I suggest
DesignBuilder because I've used it, though I'm sure that the other
programs eQuest, Energy10, etc. would work just as well (though I
haven't personally used them). Aside from DesignBuilder, there are
also other programs that let you draw the faciltiy and export the file
to EnergyPlus. Hope this helps.

there are a number of documents that come with E+, including the
GettingStarted manual.  That should help if you are completely new to
the programs.
