[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: IDF Editor
in the IDF Editor under File-->Save Options...
There are different ways to have objects sorted when saving. This should help you somewhat, but may not completely accomplish what you want to do as if you remove sorting new objects must then go to the top or bottom.
