[EnergyPlus_Support] Exterior blinds always on does not increase heating demand

Dear Forum
I am simulating an atrium and I have introduced exterior blinds to see the amount of savings on the cooling demand. There are some savings but on the other hand the heating demand also decreases, which is very strange since one would expect the contrary, that due to the fact that there is less solar radiation entering the zone there is more need for heating. Even putting the shading device only during the day, and off in the night, the heating demand decreases.

I have used the following blinds:
MATERIAL:WINDOWBLIND,
    30002, !- Name
    Vertical, !- Slat orientation
