That appears to be the area of the code where the exe reads in 
Energy+.ini file. There haven't been any changes to that area of the 
code in quite a while.

The Energy+.ini file is a simple ASCII text file that looks like this:

[program]
dir=                                                                                                      


Do you have an ini file? Can you try entering the path to the exe (use 
quotes around path's with spaces)?
I am not real familiar with the use of this file and when you need to 
enter the path, as you can see, mine is blank.
