[EnergyPlus_Support] solar panel mounting

Hello people,

Simple question. I'm mounting some solar water collector panels on a roof. Should the panels be flat on the roof or it be placed such that one end is inclined away from the roof but the opposite end is attached to it??

What is the proper way?
