Alberto,

DesignBuilder Software are involved with a research project which is looking at extending the BIM links of our EnergyPlus interface with 3-D CAD tools. DesignBuilder currently allows a gbXML file exported from a BIM model to be loaded, further thermal analysis data (HVAC, glazing, lighting, activities etc) can be added and EnergyPlus simulations can be run. Data is set initially through templates and details can be adjusted as required. You can also generate IDF files and hand edit those before running simulations if necessary.

Does anyone know any project/research related to develop a interface for 
EnergyPlus to be used in Building Informtaiton Modelling (BIM) or to develop 
IFC converters to EnergyPlus?
