Have you changed the activity schedule to reflect ths slower met rate? Are you using V5? The documentation added some more explanation, I think.
And maybe you should be basing your calcs on a detailed output rather than hourly. Hourly may average some of the variables. -- include the schedule values in your outputs as well.

I am trying to understand how EnergyPlus calculates PMV. I was trying to do a PMV manual calculation in excel, using the algorithm given in the documentation, and was expecting values close to those in the simulation output. But the deviation is too huge to be ignored. I really need to do this because I have to modify the hourly PMV values based on reduction of metabolic rate (as a result of slowing down of activity levels by the occupants) in a warm-humid climate. So, basically, what I need is the correlation between metabolic rate and PMV.
