Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Rated air volume flow rate for DX cooling coil

Airflow for a DX cooling coil has a typical range. System efficiency and
performance is impacted at both ends of the range. If the air flow is
too low, the coil can freeze. If the air flow is too high, there is a
high pressure drop. The typical range is 0.00004027 - 0.00006041 m3/s/W
(300 - 450 cfm/ton). These are the "rated" air flow rates. However, the
operating flow rate is allowed to fall to 0.00002684 m3/2/W (200
cfm/ton) during the simulation. This lower range is sometimes used for
systems with very good dehumidification performance. This is range that
manufacturers typically provide for their systems. In addition, the DX
cooling coil model has been tested within this range and without data to
verify performance, the model accuracy may be compromised when operating
outside this range.
