[EnergyPlus_Support] Add Nodes to Conduction Finite Difference Model

I am working on modeling a particular structure that is a small cube (1.5m x 1.5m x 1.5m) comprised of five insulated faces and one thin 'active' face. This thin active face is begining to give me problems when I model it with the Conduction Finite Difference Algorithm. The problem I am having is that there are only 3 nodes in my thin active surface and this is seeming to make the solution innacurate. I say the solution is innacurate because it does not match the same model when simulated using the CTF algorithm nor does it match the experimental data. I am trying to find a way to increase the number of nodes used by the Conduction Finite Difference Algorithm without having to change the material properties (or just how the building reacts a change in boundary condition). I am already using the maximum number of timesteps for my solution. And I need to model this using the conduction finite difference algorithm because I plan on adding phase change material to the model.

Thank you for your time.
