Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Problem with custom weather file creation

Hello Ooi

Linda was kind enough to point me out the problem: in the .def file, i had a "hh:mm" entered on the DataElements field, and it should be "Time". at the same time, it should have a "hh:mm" in the correspondent DataUnit entry. The WeatherConverter was mixing up the hours on the .epw due to this.

I've done what you sugest in the past, editing a .epw by "hand". but i need a 10 minute interval epw this time, that is why i created one from scratch with my own acquired data.

Pedro,

If your run period is about 10 days, i can share that i have opened the EPW with Notepad and edited the typical meteorological year data there, eg. outdoor dry bulb temperature with your own data.

Then save your edited notepad file as with '.epw' after the name. If you do not add .epw then notepad saves as .txt.

Hope this helps

My goal is to create a weather file consisting of only a few days for a RunPeriod simulation, but the .epw file it generates is not good at all. I'll uploaded a zip file in the Problem Submittals in the yahoo group page that includes the .def file for the epw creation, a .txt file with the weather data and a .csv file that represents my results after runing the two previous files through the weather converter. hope someone can give a look at them and help me sort out what's wrong. thank you for any help you can give.
