All ?
I would appreciate any ideas on how to fool EnergyPlus into simulating an exterior window with both electrochromic properties (a continuous variable) and a form of dynamic window insulation (ideally a continuous variable).
The existing Shading Control methods available in E+ I am familiar with only allow for drapes, blinds, screens or pull-down shades with discreet properties (on or off settings) and require E+ to reference to a different material for each on or off setting.
For this particular question it is necessary to simulate both abilities; electrochromic proprieties for glare control, and dynamic insulation for thermal control.
With material and modeling issues is resolved, the E+ model will be optimized using GenOpt. Therefore, ideally both the electrochromic and drapes could be controlled thorough a schedule that will be manipulated by the GenOpt algorithm.
Cheers ? James
