[EnergyPlus_Support] Very high solar gain for single pane windows

I am running some calculations for single pane windows with extremely high u-values and high shgc values (6 W/m2-K and 0.78 respectively). When I run the simulations in cold weather areas (i.e. Colorado Springs), I would expect the conductive loss to far outweigh the solar gain. However, I am experiencing very low total heat loss in Dec., Jan., and Feb. and am actually gaining heat the rest of the year. In January, the coldest month, the windows represent less than 2% of the total load even though there is 270 square feet of window against 1344 square feet of wall. These results run counter to what I would expect. Am I missing something here? Are these the type of results I should expect?
