[EnergyPlus_Support] How to model a vertical-slider window type

Hello,

I am attempting to model a vertical-slider (or double-hung) type window in Energy Plus. I can create the file fine in Window6, but when I create the IDF report file things get a bit strange (I’ve attached a sample double-hung IDF file). The report includes 2 identical constructions and very basic frame information. I wanted to ask this group rather than Window6_support since I was curious as to how these windows types have been modeled before. If the window is 1.2m wide by 1.5m tall does it make sense to talk about one window that’s 1.2 x 1.5, or two stacked windows that are each 1.2 x 0.75? I’d rather avoid modeling the unit as 2 stacked windows, as I’m also analyzing other options and I think it will be difficult to modify the geometry for this one case.

Looking forward to suggestions.

Kind regards,
