RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Demand Limiting Control

I do not know why you wanted to do this.

Why a resistance?

If you use a "equipment"  to heat each zone, simply turn them off with different schedules for each zone. (Fixed time on/off)

You can change the the thermostat settings up or down a few degrees in each zone as well.  In this case the total energy may not change, as the changed temperature would change the demand.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Demand Limiting Control

Dear All,

I hope you can help me with this.

I have to simulate a control system  for building that it possible to reduced electrical consumption, control system is for season  heating and the heating system is compound for electrical resistence in unit ventilator.

The logic control is the following:

When peak demand occurs (in heating mode), the electrical resistences should switched on and off intermittently, but it must be orderly, that is, when in the electrical resistance is off in the zone A, the electrical resistance in the zone B must be on and vice versa. Something like rotation the electrical resistence by zone.

I have reviewed the E+ documentation and I think I can use the group "demand limiting control", specifically the object "demandmanager:thermostat".

This object allows  to turn off the electric resistence for a specified period of time? and then activate it.

Some  suggestions to allow me to develop this simulation?

Thank you very much for the help.

Rodrigo.
