Hi Amy, You can model only one appartement but you have to defined the limits conditions. If your walls are next to heated zones you can put adiabatic walls. But if your walls are in contact to a non heated walls you have to model all the zones. For an appartement building I think you can model one appartement. For all the buildong you have to model all the building. Good luck. Hello everyone!
I'm a student of architecture and trying to simulate a mid-rise apartment building with Openstudio and Energyplus. My question is, 1. If I only concern about the energy consumption of one apartment from that building, can I only model this apartment or I have to build all of the building? 2. If I concern about the energy consumption of the whole building, should I model all apartments for the result? Look forward to your suggestions Thanks in advance Amy __._,_.___ Primary EnergyPlus support is found at: http://energyplus.helpserve.com or send a message to energyplus-support@xxxxxxxx The primary EnergyPlus web site is found at: http://www.energyplus.gov The group web site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EnergyPlus_Support/ Attachments are currently allowed but be mindful that not everyone has a high speed connection.
