New versions are released in April and Oct. The current version is 6. 
So your EP-Launch is most probably for this version, but your idf is version 5. You can transition v5 to v6 using the IDF converter in the Utilities tab of EP-Launch or download the v6 version of the example file from www.energyplus.gov
