Dear Matthew, You sure picked a challenging system to model! There are not many dual duct systems in the world these days, let alone EnergyPlus models of them…. An “air loop” is everything encompassed by the AirLoopHVAC object. It assumes a “supply” and a “demand” side; your fan system in this case is the supply side and everything else (such as AirTerminal Units) is the demand side. Think of it this way: All the components that “supply” heating, cooling or air to the zones are on the “supply” side. The components and zones which are “demanding” the heating or cooling are on the “demand” side. This way of looking at it breaks down somewhat for zone HVAC objects such as fan coils or zone heat pumps, but you probably get the idea and those zone objects don’t have a “supply” or “demand” side. E+ makes a similar distinction for Plant loops, but calls them “Plant side” and “Demand side”. In those cases, the boilers, chillers and pumps are on the “Plant side” and the cooling coils, heating coils, baseboard and chilled beams, etc. are on the “Demand side”. Keeping in mind that I have not actually modeled a dual duct air handler, this is how it should work for its SetpointManager:MixedAir (SMMA): · Assuming t
