The 3zone example file is similar to a single houe.
There are examples for house with the main house and a garage.
Heat-pumps, Window units, unitary, PTAC can all be used with a single house project.
I have seen files generated by the other software you have mentioned, and have never used them.

Once I set up the "library" for wall assembly, HVAC and activities, it seems that EnergyPlus is very powerful tool.
Have you ever used other software for single family residences such as eQuest, energy-10 or RESNET simulation software?
