[EnergyPlus_Support] cooling, infiltration and convergence

Hi All,

I have a few questions I hope for some guidance on.

I notice that the Zone / Sys Sensible Cooling energy is non-zero when the zone temp is below the cooling set point and the outside temp is also below the cooling set point.

Am I correct in thinking the Zone/Sys Sesnsible Cooling energy shows that the HVAC is operating, to cool the zone ?
If so, why would it operate when the zone is cooler than the setpoint at 23.9 degrees ( as low as 14 in winter) ?

Is it cooling becoz the heat gain in the zone is positive, hence the temperature rising so some cooling is necessary?

Perhaps unrelated by I have numerous loads initialisation problems with
Temperature not converging. I tried 100 warm days and still got the problem.

I have an AFN with infiltration and openable windows.

Thanks

Tom
