Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] I need your help

Please take this as constructive criticism. But get ready for a reality check.

The scope that you have outlined is beyond the capabilities of a beginner to EnergyPlus. In fact, a 1/2 million m2 four story complex geometry airport with multiple air systems is a serious challenge to even the more experienced EnergyPlus users. This is not an appropriate project to learn EnergyPlus. Although it may be deceptively simple to create beautiful 3D geometry in Sketchup, there are many potential pitfalls in the road ahead which will derail your expectations.

Right now, you need to do a risk analysis of this project. Given the deadline, what if you cannot successfully simulate the model? What if the client MEP team disagrees with your results and asks for a re-simulation? What if the reviewing body (is it a LEED project?) rejects the model 4 months later? Consider also the resources you have available. What is the timeline? Do you have a team? Can you hire external help? Can you get training?

If you are serious about becoming an energy modeler, and if you want to protect yourself and the project, my advice is to consider these issues and have an honest discussion with your supervisor and the client about expectations and budget.

I hope I didn't scare you too much, but just enough. Think about it, and come back with any questions!

-Do I have to model all of the equipment mentioned up, in addition to other Exhause Fans, Smoke Fans..etc?

 I mean you can imagine the project how big it is.

My Available Data:

-I have the 3d model of the project in googlesketchup(openstudio) (I'm aware of using this tool).

-I have completed till the "Schedules Class" in the .IDF file.

Recommendations:

-I prefer to work on the 3d model in googlesketchup, since the profile of the building is complicated (your advice is still appreciated).
