I have plan to do it during current month, i have just one doubt in the test, in my case the last layer in compose(20%lime+40%gypsum+20%PCM) and theses are not hemogenouse as you know, so for making test i need to do it for PCM or compose of all materials?

This is my .idf file , but i used another temperature-enthalpy results , these are not actual, for now i try to simulate my experimental setup ,also i am not expert in enrgyplus i started 2 months ago. anyway, can you see my file and tell me what is wrong?regars
Mohammad,You have your parameters mixed up.The timestep is the number of iterations and the finite difference algorithm requires no less then 20/one per 3 minutes. The output variable is where you can specify what is produce temperatures in 30 minute intervals.
For instance you could set your timestep to 60/one per minute (max accuracy) and then set your output for sub hourly, hourly, daily, monthly or annual. Again the timstep has nothing to do with output, as output is handled with output variables and output meeter. If you would like to send me your IDF I can get it working for you.
Also I am wondering if you might have temperature enthalpy sets that I could use to cross reference with mine, as I would love to see the performance difference between the respective products..ThanksOn Sat, Mar 3, 2012 at 9:21 AM, Mohammad Kheradmand <mohammadkheradmand@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Thank you for your information,Actually we create a wall inside the cell test which in last layer of materials used 20% PCM (micronal-BASF), i try to simulate the behavior of temperature changes by energyplus. data loger in used can measure temperature each 30 mintutes and i want to obtain output for 30 minutes but alters are not 30 mintute.. i though if i change timestep from 20 (defoult for PCM) to 2 it will be happen ..but i dont know what is wrong exactly.regardsmohammadOn Sat, Mar 3, 2012 at 12:19 AM, Mohammad Kheradmand <mohammadkheradmand@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Hello,I try to simulate PCM by energyplus, for the out put result how i can get each 30 minute temperature (in default exit just hourly,timestep,...) because my data from experiment are each 30 minute and i want to match with them.also one i changed timestep from 20 (for PCM ) to 2 to get that result (each 30 minute ) but i had error for it.regardsmohammad

This is my first day with this software. I have worked with many other ones, Trace, hap, equest, flares, flacom, you name it. I am having such a hard time to start with this software. Can some one tell me how to start a project, I am assuming that I am missing something in the installation since I already donwloaded everything and still could not find the way to start. All the previous softwares are pretty similar on their input procedure, what about this one? Thanks in advance.
