RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: old version

Hi, Linda

I think the user's problem is not just the transition from Ver 6.0 to ver 7.0.  He is using DesignBuilder.  I believe, DesignBuidier cannot import IDF file.  So, even if the version 7.0 is available, it cannot be loaded back into DesignBulder.

He has to find out what is the version of IDF needed for his DesignBuilder.  If the version 6.0 is used, then he should stay with version 6.0, until his DesignBuilder is upgrated.

If he want to use version 7.0 with EPlus download directly, then we can help him.

If he has version 7.0  loaded, the error message clearly showed that he has a version mismatch.  May be the version 7.0 was not installed probably.

If his DesignBuiding is running version 6.0, why must he use version 7.0.  Simulate within DsignBuilder using version 6.0, unless pv and solarthermal are not available from within DesignBuilder.

I offered to convert from version 4.0 to version 7.0 for one user, but the file was never posted.  With the new conveter all the inter version files are avilable after the conversion.

The transition program from V6 to V7 in the EnergyPlus V7 install is solid.

It's certainly easy to try if you can't get a V7 IDF from Design Builder.

Thank you Javed Iqbal.
I'm using Design Builder V3.0.0.064 but I am not able to get an Energy Plus Version 7 IDF file. Did you maybe forget a link? :-)
I think getting directly from DesignBuilder a Version 7 IDF file would be more sure than using the transition auxiliary program (I mean the conversion errors should be less probable), isn't it?
