[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Partially opened windows modulated by a schedule

You guys are missing the point.

In the AirflowNetwork:Multizone:Zone object the "Venting Availability Schedule" does not deal with fractional values. >0 is 1 and <=0 is 0. It is either on or off. At the present time it is not possible to directly modulate the opening size of the crack with a schedule, regardless what Ventilation Control Mode you are using.

As a matter of fact I would bet that even infiltration at closed window condition will be zero if the ventilation schedule is showing zero at that time. I.e. you turn off the AFN when "Venting Availability Schedule" has zero values. This however does not apply to the NoVent ventilation control mode.

The best way to couple a schedule to opening area is to use the Temperature or Enthlpy ventilation control modes, whilst keeping the "Venting Availability Schedule" always 1, and employing varying temperature limit or enthalpy limit schedules.
