I have it installed on 12.04.  Download the installation script (just one file).  Chmod +x the file to give it executable permission.  Execute it from terminal.  If you install the executables or the symlinks into an admin area, you will need to run with sudo (sudo ./SetEPl....)

this is not a direct answer to your question and I am sorry for that... I am a noob at linux, but need to use it to harness some HPC capacities at my university. Can you tell me how you installed E+ on Ubuntu 12.04? I can't for the life of me get it to work. Thanks.
