RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] poll item (Ensure Air Mass Conservation in a Zone)

Hi Ery,

The main issue is that so-called simple airflows are not necessarily balanced with HVAC flows.  It is complicated to explain, but for example a user could input a set of ZoneMixing objects that don’t balance out with the air handler.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] poll item (Ensure Air Mass Conservation in a Zone)

All,

In the latest poll, there is one intriguing item for me:
Ensure Air Mass Conservation in a Zone (all airflows including HVAC,
exhaust, zone mixing, infiltration, etc.)

Does this mean that at the current state of development, EnergyPlus does
not ensure air mass conservation in a zone? I do not know what the poll
item means, I guess. Can someone elaborate on this? Which part of the
manuals I should read that indicate there is potentially a violation of
mass conservation in a zone?

Thanks,

Ery
