[EnergyPlus_Support] Question on weather data for Lisbon, Portugal

Dear all,

We are simulating a module with "normal" materials, glazing and no shading for a series of European locations, including Lisbon. Heating and cooling are provided using the Ideal Loads system with fixed temperatures and schedules.

For Lisbon, we have observed that the prototype facing West has significantly lower energy consumption than the one facing East. However, for the rest of European locations, energy consumption at East and West is very similar.

We are using the INETI weather file available at the EnergyPlus website.

Could anybody explain if this is produced by some topographical feature, an issue with the weather file, or something we might have overlooked?

Thanks in advance,

Carlos
