We are attempting to model external vertical fin shading elements which are proposed to be glazed. We therefore need to assess the impact of glazed shades as opposed to diffusing metal shades. To model the external shades we are using the Shading:Zone:Detailed model to define them as completely unglazed to assess the amount of solar reflected from the shades which is then diffused and strikes the glass. We then change the fraction of shading surface that is glazed to 1 and define an appropriate glass constructuion to associate with the shades to assess the increase in reflected solar from the shades which is expected given the specular nature of the reflections.
