[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Does EnergyPlus reduce infiltration when the mechanical ventilation is on?

Good questions.
1) I believe CO2 balance considers infiltration, but you'd have to ask the helpdesk if you don't find info in the io ref and Eng. manual.

2) When not using AFN, the decrease must be input via schedules as they are for reference buildings. As you are using AFN, you could look into the hybrid ventilation manager. It's not exactly what you want. It puts the venting devices into the closed position (override) when mechanical ventilation is on (if you specify it that way).

As far as I know, there is no way to reduce the infiltration fraction wise during AFN simulation. That is there is no availability manager or setting that can override the calculated infiltration through a closed venting object.

dT inside vs. outside modulation of opening factor is possible (all be it only when TODA is less than Tzone (i.e. can't open windows to heat a zone).

Modulation of opening factor due by wind speed is also possible.

Look into the AFNwithDistrubution mode...I've not researched it, but this may be what you need.
