Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Chiller Branch Issue

Chandan,
Thank you much! Still I have a couple questions for you-
  1. By changing the name of the ice storage output to "ice tank outlet" would that make this a "downstream" or "upstream" ice storage configuration?
  2.  I think I was creating errors by attempting to have each node be either the input or output for another node- this seemed to make since, but now I do not see where the  "ice tank outlet"  node is feeding into the chiller- this is why I previously had the input of the ice storage connected to the output of the pump then the outlet of the ice storage connected to the the inlet for the chiller- (I was attempting to follow the "upstream" method in the example file..)  Could you please tell me how the correct logic for connecting nodes should work for this application?
I really appreciate your making my file work, and now have another building at the same location that I want to add the same object to, so am hopeful you might provide any further insight as to how this should work so that I can complete the next building without help...

Thanks again!

I didn't look into the file in detail but it looks like you don't have to change any other node names.
Simply make the 1 line change as attached and the file will run. Attached is the modified file and error file.

Thanks- that seemed to have worked- I changed the name of the input node at the chiller to match the branch, and changed the name of the output node at the ice storage to match the chiller made since and the file ran, (I also tried to change the name of the branch to match the chiller but that caused a fatal error) So now I have a file that runs but now I get a new severe error and some warnings that I am not sure how to approach- Any advise?

Chiller has two different inlet node names "Chiller CHW Inlet Node" and "Ice Tank Outlet" in two separate places. Correcting the node name in the chiller object should make this file to run.

I finally seem to have gotten the ice storage object to work but now it says my chiller is missing- When attempting to re-connect the chiller in any logical way I can think of I get fatal errors saying that I have duplicate node names. I put the day into this yesterday, read documentation and ran experiments and seem to have not gotten the detailed ice storage object to work- but in the process have apparently disconnected my chiller.  Can anyone help? Dr Li, your previous advise was over complicated I see not reason to make a refrigerated room when the goal is to cold charge a PCM in the night to use it in the day to pre-cool input for a chiller for a non refrigerated space.

This project in particular is to use BioPCM Thermastix, (see image below) in a container to absorb cold and use it for chiller pre-cooling- basically as a replacement for ice in an ice storage type setup- seems perfect for Energy Plus Ice Storage Detailed object as it allows the "ice" to melt at a user specified temperature, and as manufactures we can make our PCM-ICE to melt at any temperature-- but the question is what temperature and how much to use, both questions it would be great if Energy Plus could answer- if only I could get the object to work.. I have been trying on and off for days- so any help would be appreciated.
