Real electricity tariffs have monthly service charges, demand charges, ratchets etc. And sometimes you don’t know even know which tariff qualifies until all the results are in for the year. It is not possible to treat them as a continuous time series result and be accurate. What you can do is derive an effective energy charge per J to model a cost signal, but it isn’t a real tariff.
