[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Direct evaporative cooler and EMS

Thanks Brent. One more idea I had in order to avoid using EMS...

What if I use the DirectCooler:ResearchSpecial object? Which I think allows the cooler to control the amount of cooling based on node setpoints with a setpoint manager. The cooler effectiveness field assumes that the effectiveness is constant. So I assume the effectiveness (or actual cooling) varies based on the mixed air temperature (cooler input), and adjusts the cooling based on supply air temperature (cooler output) determined by another setpoint manager. Will the new setpoint manager correspond with the sensor node field? (mixed air or supply air?) According to documentation, the sensor node is updated by the setpoint manager with "system air temperature setpoint" information. I'm just not sure what temperature is being referred to here..

My goal is to use Schedule:File with yearlong supply and mixed air temps to simulate actual cooler performance.

Thanks a lot for your help!
