[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Interior roof and floor

Hi Hu,

Is the roof of the lower storey also the floor of the upper storey?

For a two layer construction, the outermost layer of the floor is the innermost layer of the roof. is this correct?

If so, then you need to define only one construction. Constructions start with the outermost layer, Then, say you have the 'Lower Storey' Zone and the 'Upper Storey' Zone. When you define the roof of the 'Lower Storey' zone, then in the OtherSide.. field pick 'Zone". In the next field type the name 'Upper Storey'. EnergyPlus will do the reversing of the layers during simulation of Upper Storey Zone.

i believe the documentation and exact names of the fields are now much clearer in the EnergyPlus documentation.
