Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Reflectance of external surfaces

U-values are in a sense dynamically calculated based on the current temps inside outside using the convection algorithms as the situation determines. The reported U-values are "rated" u-values based on a set of "rating" conditions which are set in stone. They will not change.

Hi all

Iâ??m doing a study that involves the reflectance of internal surfaces for some daylighting analysis. To have the required reflectance, I do change

The values of both Solar Absorptance  and visible absorbtance  of the internal surfaces?. However such change will have an effect on the ennergy consumption of the tested room. I did not knew why both Solar Absorptance  and visible absorbtance will  affect the energy consumption while no change happened to the U factor of the surfaces.

Is there is  a way change the reflectance of internal surfaces without effecting the thermal properties of such surfaces ?

Thanks
