[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Regarding the problem of Cooling Coil sizing

Air has a limited ability to transport energy (Cp is about 1.005 from memory). This means that if your flowrates are too low, even at very cold zone supply air temperatures, you simply can't bring in enough cooling. The physical coil has limitations which the model is trying to capture. For example, in theory you could indefinately increase the chilled water mass flowrate through the coil to no effect, because the the coil surface area is limited as is the air movement over the surface.

The program is telling you that it is increasing it's size and thereby its rated capacity to meet the required cooling rate at the very low air flow rates that you specified.

Is this what is happening here?
