Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Schedule:File not exactly working

Hi Everybody-

Thanks for answering.

To answer the first response.  Yes, I believe that my intervals match.  I am running a full year's worth of simulations, and I have 8760 hourly points in my csv file.  I am running the simulation at 15 minute time steps, but I am sure that shouldn't be causing me an issue...

Second, yes, I am running version 8.0.0.008  I wasn't aware that there was an issue with this release.  Linda, I basically averaged my data and put it in an hourly format, just so I wouldn't have to think about what energy plus might be doing with sub-hourly data.  The way that I am checking to see if E+ matches up with my 8760 test schedule is to put the following in my output command:

  Output:Variable,My_8760_Schedule_Name,Schedule Value,Hourly;

I then open up the hourly report .csv and then match these to the input values.  As I said, some funny insertions and there is always a problem with the wrong value at hour 24, which is pretty consistent.

Will send to the helpdesk, but it sounds like there is a remedy.  Maybe it is updating to a new version  What is the recommended remedy though?

Are you using V8?  V8.0.0.008? (as there was a problem).

Note that if you report out hourly values for electric equipment these will be averaged over the hour -- if you want to exactly match your inputs, you might be better off using timestep outputs.

Please send your input file and schedule file to the helpdesk, if  the above does not solve the problem.

I created a simple CSV file with fractional hourly values.  I created a full 8760 hours worth, saved the CSV file locally on my Windows 7 machine, and then referenced this file in EnergyPlus, in a Schedule:File definition.
After running the simulation, when I compare the output hourly fractional values to the CSV file, I find what look like EnergyPlus random insertions, and sometimes deletions, which cause the output not to match the input.
