[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: DX unit COP for cooling and heating SEER or SCOP
So because the minimum efficiency criteria in 90.1 (and possibly manufacturer data sheets) are given in P-I units "SEER" value or SI units "SCOP", it would make life easier if the program input fields could take this and back calculate the dx coil COP, instead of the other way round. Is this possible?
At the same time 90.1 requires the fan energy be slit out so that part is nicely handled the way it is set up now.
However, itteratively changing COP inputs to arrive at the required SEER values in the output reports, is surely a sub-optimal use of time. Is there a better way?
Yes, James has released an impressive spread sheet on the matter, but an automated solution would be best. Also, I don't remember his spread sheet actually spitting out a calculated value...
Point is my current project has 29 different units each autosizing fan sizes and from the required power, require a specific minimum SEER value to be hit.

The DX coil airflow issue is just due to wrong auto size in DX coil object. The parameter in m3/s/kW has to be set within the interval accepted by energyplus. This interval is specified in the IDF and in the engineering reference PDF.

Indeed it is quite tricky that the COP definition I the 90.1 standard is based on AHRI definition while within Eplus the definition is different. You must take it into account. The reviewer will check this table in your summary and see if your AHRI corrected COP matches the 90.1 standard value for the baseline model.
