Suggest you read the Getting Started manual that comes with EnergyPlus and review some of the example files (> 400).
SirI don't understand how energyplus deal with surface construction. Actually I created the building model in designbuilder and export it into energyplus. Now I want to know that the surface according to the vertices defined in building Surface detail object is inside surface or outside surface ?And the thickness of particular building object like wall, roof, ground floor and interzone partition etc defined in construction and material object going towards outside or insideI want to model a building in which all wall have different thickness and construction in DB and export it into EnergyPlusMy second problem is in Window i want to model side fins which have different projection in top and bottom level in designbuilder ?
It seems the radiant system is not turning on or is turning off due to condensation risk.1) check that the radiant equipment has the higher priority in the equipmentlist object.2) check that the setpoint schedule for the radiant cooling equipment is lower than that of the zone cooling setpoint, i.e. that of the fancoil.3) set the chilled water temperature to the radiant system somewhere between 18 to 20 deg C and report the output variable which shows if and when the radiant system is turning off due to condensation risk.

A.Jean Maraisb.i.g. bechtoldTel. +49 30 6706662-23SirI did the modeling of radiant cooling system with fan coil unit and i faced some problem asI want that all the cooling load of zone is handled by radiant system and remaining load mostly latent load is handled by fan coil unit but load on fan coil unit is almost constant and not varying with occupancy change.Condensation problem is continuous occurring when i increase the leaving chilled water temperature of the chiller which is equipped with fan coil uniti am using variable flow radiant system but the flow is constant and only return temperature of chilled water of chiller( equipped with radiant system ) is varying according to the load
