So i supposed to create the subsurface( window ) on the base surface ( wall ) in sketchup and  putting the reveal properties in EP environment and it will crate shading properties automatically and reduce the heat gain through window.

If i want to create extra shading by window overhang shading on the surface of ext wall what i am suppose to do do ?

This is a known problem with OpenStudio/Sketchup/OpenStudio Legacy.

EnergyPlus uses the different planes of the surfaces to determine reveal.

Thickness of the wall is only a drawing issue -- The materials/constructions illustrate the thickness of the surfaces and thermal mass.
