RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] using advance glazing systems in the windows

Hi Mica,

Not sure if there is an automated way to import your xml files but you could probably manually do it by yourself, i.e. prepare the idf entries from the values in your xml files. I have not done it but if you are not sure perhaps you could use WINDOWS7.2 and for complex window type export both an xml file and an idf file so that you can compare them and see what the requirements for the idf are.

Hope it works.

Regards,

Georgios

Hi Georgios

Thank you for that, but now I wonder if its possible to import xml files that I already have and
add them to my virtual model in Energy Plus.

I want to model the daylight distribution (and so) by using specific advanced systems

Is that possible?

Thanks in advance.

M.

Hi Mica,

WINDOW7.2 (I think it is a beta version though) uses Radiance to calculate such data for venetian blinds. After the Radiance calculation it exports straight an idf file that could be used by EnergyPlus.

Georgios

Hi

I was exploring the use of energy plus and I wonder how could be possible to add an advance glazing system

to my model. Such as: lumitop, or prismatic panels which are usually available as xml files.

The glazing materials in EPlus are usually different kinds of standard glazing.

Is that possible to use Window7 for this?

Thanks in advance!

Mica
