[EnergyPlus_Support] Snowmelt

Has anyone used EnergPlus to model a snowmelt system?  The IO Reference Manual says that the "GroundHeatExchanger:Surface" object can be used for snowmelt, but there is no additional info.  For anyone who has modeled a system, how did you set up the controls and setpointmanagers?
