Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Model for Boiler:HotWater

That, or "Boiler Electric Energy", depending on what you're trying to achieve.

Try "Boiler Electric Power" as the output variable.  Review the filename.RDD file to see which variables are available for your model.

Thank you Julien. I need to simulate the electricity ocnsumption of the Boiler. In the list of output variables the program doesn't show any variables related I just found -Air System Hot Water Energy- that represents the Hot Water Consumption for the system (Joules). It would be this one? I am using E+ V8.1.

Giovani,

There are tons of example files that show you how to set a boiler. Look into the example file folder, there's a spreadsheet that details which example file has what type of system. Typical location is C:\EnergyPlusV8-2-0\ExampleFiles\ExampleFiles.xls

Also, there are HVACTemplate objects to build a boiler plant. HVACTemplate:Plan:Boiler, HVACTemplate:Plant:HotWaterLoop etc... (The Input/Output Reference can help too!)

I suggest you take a look at the example file "HVACTemplate-5ZoneBaseboardHeat.idf" which makes uses of the HVACtemplate objects to build a simple boiler plant.

As far as your other question, I think you may be confused about internal water storage and water flow. Look at your design, or leave it to be autosized for now...

Best,
Julien

Hi everyone, I am performing simulations of an electric boiler. I am using Boiler:HotWater object and my doubt is how to programme the fields Boiler Water Inlet Node Name and Boiler Water Outlet Node Name. Which specific objects should I use in order to operate the boiler (branch, node list, etc)? I didn't find an exemple file correspondent, so maybe an exemple could help me.
Other question is: I have a domestic boiler of 0.3 liters, what should be my Design Water Flow Ratio in m3/s?

Thank you in advance.
