Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Loads from the ventilation and from the building enveloppe with Ideal Loads

Hi Johann,
e+ will output whatever you tell it to as a reported variable. There are so many that it is not usefull to report all of them. There are some pre-defined reports you can specify which group some usefull variables. They are explained in the ioreference.pdf (which is like our handbook). I like to use the "AllSummary" report (the sensible heat gain summary may interest you).

To get more detail on specific variables, you need to ask e+ to generate the rdd file. Other posts on this forum explain how to do that. In that file is a list of all the variables possible in your simulation specifically, that you could ask the program to output.

The third thing you can do is to specify a meter object on a node to meter how much energy, etc. is going past the node. I have no experience with metering objects, so I can't tell you more about them.

Hello everybody,

I'm just learning to use E+ and I'm only working with IdealLoads for the moment. With these IdealLoads, from what I understood, I only become as Outputs, the total heating/cooling loads for the whole building which includes the losses/gains from the enveloppe and from the ventilation. Is there any way/output to differentiate theses losses/gains one from the other. Like one Output which shows the heating/cooling need in the room (to offset the enveloppe losses/gains) and one which shows the heating/cooling load for preheating/precooling the supply air from the ventilation.

Kind regards,

Johann
