Very few of the EnergyPlus components allow component level, detailed specification.
This is probably because its purpose is to model manufactured, already-designed equipment, not to model a prototype design.

correct. they are modelled based on a performance matrix of the chiller over many variable variables, if that makes sense. The performance map should account for cycling inefficiencies, etc, etc.

Dear All,

I found that simulation models of chillers implemented in E+ do not contain parameters of chiller components (i.e., condenser, evaporator and expansion valve, except the compressor).  It seems that these models do not go to the component level to model each component of chillers.  Am I right?  Thank you.
