[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: doubt Model construction





If the door is opaque it doesn't matter, right.
 If you draw a window, its correct position on the wall has an impact from the energy point of view only if you are using FulInteriorAndExterior as Solar Distribution model (Building obj), since the sular rays are modelled enetering in the thermal zone through the window with their direction varying through the day, and so hitting various surfaces. Instead if you select MinimalShadow or FullInterior solar rays are modelled always falling on floor surfeces, so the window placing on the wall has not a direct energy impact. 

If you need to carry out daylighting analyis obviously you have to pay more attention in placing window and maybe even in creating thermal zone.

A note about drawing in OS vs DB: in DB you draw the void on the wall (glass+frame), in OS you have to only draw the glass portion, since the eventually present frame is subtracted from the parent surface (the wall) moving from the glass drawn.
